Join to apply for the Activity Assistant role at Cape Cod Healthcare . Responsibilities include: Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the activity programs of the facility in accordance with residents' care assessments. Abide by current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, to assist with necessary changes in department policies and procedures. Participate in community planning related to the facility’s interests and involve residents and families when planning objectives and goals. Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement; chart detailed notes regarding resident activity progress. Perform administrative requirements such as forecasting the department budget and purchasing supplies and personal items for residents. Serve on committees and attend various committees and continuing education programs as required; participate in regularly scheduled reviews of resident discharge plans. Assist in developing comprehensive assessments of activity needs and create a 'Plan of Care'; review and revise Care Plans to ensure follow-through and quality control. Assist in developing and participating in the orientation and in-service training programs related to the activity program. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information; report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure. Implement activity procedures and oversee residents engaged in scheduled activities as directed by the Activity Director. Perform other tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as directed by the Activity Director. Qualifications include: Minimum of High School Diploma/GED or higher. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Proven ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of residents, family members, visitors, and personnel served with patience, tact, and enthusiasm. Leadership ability, willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel, and ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Purpose of Position The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.
