Position Overview:

Northeast Tool & Manufacturing, a leading provider of precision components to the Aerospace industry, is seeking a hands-on, high-potential Plant Manufacturing Manager to lead our Manufacturing Department in a 24/5 operation. This role is ideal for a rising leader with strong aerospace experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Reporting to the COO, this role will lead manufacturing supervisors, cell leads, and a manufacturing planner , drive accountability to the schedule, and collaborate cross-functionally (with engineering, purchasing, quality, and shipping) to resolve daily issues and meet production and delivery targets. The ideal candidate is process oriented and will have the approach of managing people through defined processes .

While this role has operational oversight of manufacturing, it does not directly manage the other departments. It is suited for someone who thrives on solving problems in real-time, leading people from the floor, and implementing structured systems for manufacturing excellence.

What You’ll Do:

· Analyze production specifications, capacity data, and resource availability to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and prepare daily work schedules to ensure predictable output aligned with shipping requirements; monitor performance and adjust as needed to maintain schedule adherence.

· Ensure on-time execution of daily and weekly production and shipping schedules - including coordination with external suppliers - to meet customer delivery commitments, revenue and margin targets, and budget constraints.

· Develop and monitor key performance indicators across the facility (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).

· Ensure daily tiered manufacturing meetings occur to ensure actionable information is gathered and distributed to responsible parties.

· Conduct daily Gemba walks on the manufacturing floor to identify bottlenecks and implement resolution actions in coordination with Scheduling, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality.

· Establish, maintain, and improve workplace 5S and FOD Controls to ensure product integrity and a world-class environment.

· Support the resolution of manufacturing issues and disposition of non-conformances, driving robust corrective actions among production staff.

· Drive a high-performance culture through staff management and development and continuous improvement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), including managing on-the-job training and cross-training of manufacturing staff.

· Manage team members comprising supervisors, area leads, and process managers (setup machinists and CNC operators), including timecard and time off approval in HR system.

· Ensures goals are established for manufacturing personnel and performance reviews are consistently performed within the performance management process.

· Work across all departments (Quality, Engineering, & Purchasing) to understand critical milestones, improve lead times, reduce downtime, and meet schedule needs.

· Drive and implement standard work procedures to improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.

· Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

· Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university.

· 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, strong preference in a precision machining environment.

· 4+ years in a leadership role (e.g., Production Supervisor, Value Stream Manager, Superintendent, or Manager).

· 3+ years in Aerospace (AS9100).

· Experience working closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to drive delivery and performance.

· Demonstrated experience acting with urgency and being confident in making informed but prompt independent decisions in a fast-paced environment to meet and exceed customer expectations.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

· Knowledge in GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018 standard.

· Experience with Six Sigma; Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) or higher, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Even Better:

· Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field.

· Previous experience in an executive level leadership role (Director or above).

· Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) or Master Black Belt.

· Experience in Project Management, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

· Experience with 5-Axis Milling Platforms and Multi-Axis Turning Centers strongly preferred.

· ASME Y14.5-2018 foundational GD&T level certification is a plus, advanced level strongly preferred.

Compensation :

· This is a salaried, exempt role with an annual salary range of $100,000 - $135,000 DOE.
