About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Director, Underwriting Analytics to own and grow our joint lending portfolio in a high-visibility, high-impact role. This is an individual contributor position to start, with the opportunity to grow into a people leadership role managing interns and early-career analysts.

The right candidate will be equally comfortable with quantitative analytics and qualitative business judgment , using data-driven insights to shape underwriting strategies that drive sustainable growth. You will have the freedom to navigate ambiguity, propose new approaches, and lead initiatives aimed at increasing joint lending volume by 10% over the next few years .

Key Responsibilities

• Own the analytics strategy for the joint lending portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth and risk optimization.
• Develop and execute models, reporting, and analyses to inform underwriting decisions.
• Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Partner with finance, risk, and lending teams to ensure alignment between underwriting policies and business objectives.
• Monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve growth targets.
• Prepare for future team leadership by mentoring interns and supporting the onboarding of new analysts.

Required Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience in underwriting analytics, credit risk, or related financial analytics roles.
• Bachelor’s degree plus a graduate degree (MBA or quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science).
• Strong quantitative skills with proven ability to apply statistical methods to business problems.
• Solid understanding of financials and lending economics.
• Experience in credit card or auto lending (or other consumer lending products with similar risk dynamics).
• Proven ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and deliver measurable results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with advanced statistical modeling and predictive analytics tools (e.g., SAS, Python, R).
• Familiarity with joint lending or partnership-based credit products.
• Prior experience working in a growth-oriented, fast-changing environment.
