Job Title: Engineer II, III, Sr Engineer

Company: LD Consulting

Work from home part-time (must reside in Oregon or Washington state)

 

Travel: 25% travel to client sites in the Portland Metro area

 

The Energy Project Engineer will work with industrial customers in the area to scope out and verify energy savings projects while facilitating Energy Trust incentives.

Key Details

  • Pay: $80,000-$165,000 (Engineer II—Senior Engineer) annually, depending on experience, with opportunities for advancement.

Job Summary

We seek a motivated and skilled Energy Engineer to join our team and support our mission of promoting energy efficiency and equity. This role requires a solid technical foundation in energy engineering, mechanical and electrical systems, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently on assigned tasks, perform site visits, conduct energy assessments, perform energy efficiency studies, and contribute to project execution with growing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct energy audits and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, pumps, motors, and fans.
  • Interpret and analyze mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment nameplate data, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Collect and analyze energy consumption data, identifying trends and potential savings.
  • Assist in developing and implementing energy-efficient solutions for industrial and commercial facilities.
  • Prepare well-organized reports and analyses.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to internal teams and clients.
  • Support project management by tracking budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in energy efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 3- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in energy efficiency or industrial systems.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, motors, lighting, and industrial equipment.
  • Strong data analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • P.E., EIT, CEM, and/or CMVP preferred.
