We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Traveling Truck Mechanic and Roadside Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently and is comfortable with frequent out-of-state travel. This role is crucial for providing timely and professional mobile maintenance and repair services for a variety of commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on a diverse fleet of vehicles, including vans, trucks, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty equipment.
• Travel to various locations, often out-of-state, to provide roadside assistance and on-site repairs.
• Utilize a tablet and scan tools to diagnose complex issues, access repair manuals, and document all work performed.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to provide status updates and explain repairs.
• Manage a service vehicle, ensuring it is well-stocked with parts and tools, and maintained in a safe and operational condition.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 emergency roadside service.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a truck mechanic or a similar role.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a traveling capacity.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in using a tablet and various scan tools for vehicle diagnostics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must have a current and valid health card (medical certificate) due to interstate travel requirements.
• Experience working on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems is a plus.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate.
• Overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 per week.
