Job Description
Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad a nationwide law firm with offices in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Vermont, is currently seeking a talented litigation attorney to join the Pennsylvania Regional Division of our firm's Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Practice Group. This position offers the flexibility of remote work and promises a vibrant, fast paced and enjoyable work environment.
As a litigation attorney with our firm, you will have the exciting opportunity to handle a variety of tasks, including intake, review, active handling all aspects of loss investigation, expert retention, pleadings, discovery, mediation and trial and management of numerous workers’ compensation subrogation claims, ranging from several thousand to millions of dollars annually.
Ideal candidates must possess a minimum of three to five years' litigation experience in handling a large and varied case load (both in prelitigation and litigation), drafting legal pleadings and motions, preparing for court proceedings and depositions, analyzing opportunities for direct recovery and lien reimbursement claims, and communicating effectively with clients and opposing counsel. Ideal candidates should have taken or defended a minimum of 20 depositions as the primary attorney on the matter and should have attended a minimum of 10 mediations as the primary attorney.
A valid Pennsylvania Bar license is required. New Jersey, New York and other jurisdiction bar license(s) are a plus as we are a 50-state practice! Previous experience in subrogation law, products liability and plaintiff's personal injury is highly desirable. Prior trial experience is highly preferred! An exceptional candidate will have participated in 5 or more trials, and participated in presenting openings, closing, conducting voir dire , and doing direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $175,000, reflecting our commitment to fair and competitive compensation. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
