Job Description

Job Responsibilities



  1. Oversee a variety of programs including quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, health equity, infection prevention, diabetes education, throughput, patient experience, and inpatient wound program.

  2. Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of customer satisfaction, promote patient-focused services, and respond to the needs of all customers.

  3. Promote process improvement using models such as DIMAC or PDCA.

  4. Encourage collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

  5. Serve as a staff and patient resource, assess patient satisfaction, and maintain professional attitude and behavior.

  6. Perform administrative, leadership, and managerial duties professionally and efficiently to ensure cost-effective and safe operations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies including Federal, State, and TJC.

  7. Formulate unit-specific procedures and job descriptions; support professional growth and education; adhere to hospital policies.

  8. Oversee data submission and performance of CMS and private payer quality improvement programs such as HVBP, QHIP, HRRP, IQR, OQR, and Star Ratings, among others.

  9. Ensure staff competencies, participate in technology selection, and serve on all assigned committees; provide direct care as needed.

  10. Operate within established budgetary guidelines, utilizing sound financial principles.

  11. Prepare and monitor budgets, establish and adhere to staffing plans, follow purchasing practices and policies, develop programs, and assess cost controls; participate in care path formulation and maintenance.

  12. Contribute actively to the organizations strategic plans and goals.

  13. Support the mission and vision, participate in internal and external projects, and serve as a resource for nursing and the community.

  14. Maintain, enhance, and improve service quality within the department and organization.

  15. Maintain CQI programs for staff rewards and recognition, ongoing service assessment, practice standards, quality controls, and safety standards.

Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor's degree

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field

  • Required Licensure/Certifications: RN preferred; certification or licensure as applicable for the role
