Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and highly mechanical Custom Truck Build Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing hydraulic systems, welding on steel and aluminum, and reading electrical schematics to build and repair custom trucks designed for train track operations. This role requires a strong ability to interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure precise and high-quality custom builds and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Install hydraulic systems on custom-built trucks.
• Perform welding on steel and aluminum components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics to complete wiring tasks.
• Assemble and repair custom-built rear ends and beds for trucks.
• Ensure all custom builds meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in installing hydraulic systems and welding on steel and aluminum.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a specialty shop is preferred.
• Mechanics, diesel mechanics, engine repair, stripping of wires, installing pumps, assemblers, etc.
• Welding or fabricating experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Work Environment

Working in a garage-type setting similar to a local mechanic shop but with larger vehicles like semi-tractors and Ford F-550s. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with the possibility of staying an hour after shifts to complete tasks. Ramp season will be in Q2, which may require additional hours.

This is a Contract position based out of NA, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
