Primarily responsible for the routine administrative and patient care supportive duties to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examinations and treatment of patients and ensure the facility runs smoothly. Qualifications Two years previous experience Essential Functions Greet patients Verify information on patient medical records Assist Professional Nursing staff in a variety of tasks but not limited to: Taking medical histories and recording vital signs Explaining treatment procedures to patients Promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and his/her involvement in the plan of care, and document record Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the Professional Nurse Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages Assists in work area by cleaning area Assists in storing and stocking of supplies as directed and analyzes work area and make recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient Document patient care records and other forms according to facility policies and procedures Accurately advises others responsible for care of the patient about the patient’s status Assist in the discharge of patients following evaluation by Professional Nurses Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
