Position Overview:
The Powder Coatings Engineer will specialize in all aspects of powder coating, with a focus on metal fabricated components. This is a remote position based out of Dallas or Houston, TX, requiring occasional travel to client sites and manufacturing facilities across the USA and Mexico.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot powder coating processes for metal parts to ensure high-quality finishes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve coating quality, process efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide technical support and training on powder coating applications, equipment operation, and best practices across production lines.
• Conduct inspections and quality assessments of coated products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to powder coating and surface finishing.
• Assist in the development of new coating formulations and recommend material selection for specific applications.
• Participate in root cause analysis of coating failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support equipment maintenance and upgrades, including recommendations for new equipment or process automation.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new materials, coatings, and application systems.
• Document coating procedures, process parameters, and quality control data for continuous improvement and compliance purposes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience as a manufacturing engineer with a focus on powder coating processes, especially on metal fabrication.
• Proven ability to pivot from traditional manufacturing roles into specialized powder coating expertise.
• Strong technical knowledge of powder coating materials, equipment, and application techniques.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a huge plus, facilitating communication across diverse markets and regions.
• Flexibility to travel within the USA and Mexico as needed.

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Several years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on coatings or finishing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
