This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and mental well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and possess strong communication skills to effectively connect with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
• Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and participation.
• Communicate effectively with residents to assess their interests and gather feedback on activities.
• Manage schedules for activities, ensuring a balanced variety of options that cater to different abilities and preferences.
• Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are safe and accessible for all residents.
• Provide support and assistance during events, ensuring a positive experience for participants.
• Maintain records of attendance and participation in activities for reporting purposes.
• Stay informed about aging issues and trends in senior care to continually enhance the program.

Experience

• Previous experience in senior care or assisted living environments is preferred.
• Background in event planning or recreational therapy is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in communication, organization, and schedule management are essential.
• Familiarity with aging issues counseling and home community care practices is a plus.
• A compassionate approach to caregiving is crucial for success in this role.
