Respiratory Therapist Traveler Days at UCHealth summary:

A Respiratory Therapist provides specialized respiratory care to patients by delivering and monitoring therapies according to prescribed plans. They assess patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and educate patients and families on respiratory health and community resources. This role requires accreditation, licensure, and experience in respiratory therapy to ensure quality patient outcomes in a hospital setting.

Department: Respiratory Therapy

FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: 50.00 per hour plus travel package/stipend

LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles

13 week assignments available - extension options

Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • 1-year experience
  • State licensure
  • ACLS, NRP
  • BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

  • Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
  • Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment utilizing appropriate protocols.
  • Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community resources.
