Overview

We are recruiting a Senior Environmental Engineer to support our client’s Environmental Services line of business, providing technical services to ensure that all environmental service goals are attained.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties involving the execution, management, coordination, monitoring, and oversight of environmental projects.
• Plan, manage, and conduct environmental assessments, investigations, designs, remediations, and long-term management and maintenance of hazardous waste and military munitions sites.
• Conduct project and contract management of environmental projects, including complying with scopes of work, developing and managing project schedules, and performing financial management such as preparing invoices, monthly/periodic status reports, and preparing cost estimates for environmental projects.
• Prepare technical reports, conduct and oversee quality control reviews of technical documents, design and implementation of investigations and remedial/removal actions, field sampling and field procedures of soil, soil vapor, drinking water, and groundwater investigations, and execution of munitions response projects.
• Manage client expectations and maintain routine communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Participate in business development and pursue new environmental opportunities.
• Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Ability to interact with clients, regulatory agencies, field operations, technical staff, and subcontractors. Capable of writing project work plans, health and safety plans, traffic control plans, erosion plans, etc. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Proven team-building and leadership skills highly desired. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Military Installation Access and Security Clearance: This position requires access to military installations. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass and currently hold or be able to obtain a security clearance.

Education and Experience: Ten or more years of experience in environmental engineering required. Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field from an Accreditation Board of Engineering (ABET) accredited college or university required. Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering preferred.

Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) License required. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification with current 8-Hour Annual Refresher preferred.

• Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 30 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
• Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
• Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to hazards typically encountered at environmental remediation/compliance sites.

Our client uses a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $105,000.00 to $120,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of our client’s total compensation package for employees.
