Senior Project Manager

Hybrid: St. Paul, MN

Overview:

The Metropolitan Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver technical projects within the Infrastructure, Network, and Security domains. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, modernization, and strategic advancement of the Council's IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide end-to-end project leadership across multiple technical initiatives.
• Manage and execute Keep the Lights On (KTLO) projects, including:
  • System patching
  • Certification renewals
  • Lifecycle management
• Lead Infrastructure Special Projects , such as:
  • Implementation of Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Report project status and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing complex technical projects in infrastructure, networking, or cybersecurity.
• Strong understanding of lifecycle management, patching, and certification processes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Terraform.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
