Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Support surgical procedures in a dynamic healthcare environment by maintaining sterile fields and providing essential instrumentation to the surgical team. This role involves working under the direction of Registered Nurses to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency in an operating room setting. The position offers a 13-week contract assignment with a rotating 3x12-hour shift schedule and a call requirement, beginning approximately in early March.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or Licensed Surgical Technologist with active licensure in Colorado.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
• Competency or progressing towards competency in Tier 1 surgical cases.
• Working knowledge of AORN standards and sterile/aseptic techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with perioperative teams and participate actively in surgical briefings and debriefings.
• Computer proficiency sufficient to complete online training and documentation.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation.
• Commitment to maintaining patient safety and operating room cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment, ensuring all items meet packaging and sterilization standards.
• Monitor for any breaches in sterility and take corrective action as necessary.
• Assist with patient transportation, room turnovers, and operating room setup.
• Support the surgical team during procedures with timely delivery of instrumentation.
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Uphold professional standards and participate in ongoing learning regarding new technologies.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
