Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or Nights 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
\n• Every other weekend requirement (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for both day and night shifts)
\n• Expected to work holidays as part of permanent staff rotation
\n• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity
\n• Floating required to Telemetry and ER for ICU holds
\n• Navy blue scrubs required
\n• Minimum 3 years ICU experience required (2+ years acceptable from large institutions)
\n• Prior travel experience preferred
\n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; CCRN preferred
\n• BSN not required
\n• Must be skilled, competent, and compassionate with strong focus on patient satisfaction
\n• No self-scheduling available
\n• Floor-specific orientation includes 1 day on ICU and one shift on Telemetry/stepdown unit
\n• Work with vasopressors, nitro, heparin drips and ventilated patients
\n• Use Cerner PowerChart EMR system
\n• Care for cardiac, PCI, open heart, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, CABG patients with stents and balloon pumps
\n• Will not be assigned fresh open heart or craniotomy patients
\n• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This acute care medical center operates a 44-bed licensed ICU unit currently utilizing 36 beds with modern equipment including 44 hardwired GE monitors. The facility features comprehensive support services with hospitalists and intensivists available in-house 24/7 through Sound Physician group, along with respiratory therapy and pharmacy services around the clock. The ICU provides advanced cardiac care including post-catheterization lab recovery, with dedicated charge nurses who do not take patient assignments and unit technicians who handle secretarial and equipment duties.
