Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring a MI RN license, BLS, NIH, and strong post-surgical competencies.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-surgical and medical patients, with possible telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios are up to 1:6
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• No call requirement
• Floating required to other MS units, ICU, and ED for Med/Surg patient care as needed
• Role includes care for pre/post hemodialysis, colostomy, feeding tubes, PICC lines, and tracheostomy patients
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must follow isolation precautions and proper wound care practices
• No on-call responsibilities are required for this assignment

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg or PCU experience required
• Proficient in post-surgical care and all listed Med/Surg procedures
• Skilled in remote telemetry monitoring, administering blood products, wound care, line, drain and airway management
• Competence with Heparin, Insulin, PCA, surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
