American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Telemetry contract position requiring NC or compact licensure and strong cardiac care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a hospital Telemetry unit caring for cardiac patients
  • Typical diagnoses include congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post cardiac cath
  • Expected patient ratios are 1:6-7
  • 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 with 36 hours per week
  • Weekend work required, typically every other weekend
  • Floating required as needed, potentially every shift
  • Assignment length is 13 to 26 weeks
  • Cardiac drips handled on the unit include Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine and others
  • Unit uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
  • Unit orientation consists of 24 hours
  • Self-scheduling based on unit needs
  • Contract staff may be required to participate in hurricane or storm teams and respond during catastrophes or disasters
  • Consolidation to a centralized office or reassignment to other units may occur mid-contract as needed
  • RTO is limited; after booking, additional time off is not allowed unless previously approved
  • Navy scrubs required, not provided by facility
  • Must interview with nurse manager prior to offer
  • Candidates may be required to work with various cardiac monitoring equipment, sheath pulls, TR Bands, and Femstop devices
\n \n Requirements\n
  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of telemetry or progressive care (PCU/IMC/Stepdown) experience required
  • Experience in dysrhythmia interpretation and remote monitoring required
  • Pre/Post cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and sheath removal experience required
  • Skills in central line care, PICC management, blood product administration, and cardiac drip titration with Diltiazem and Amiodarone required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Charge experience and NIH certification preferred
