Truck Escort Driver

Onsite 100% in Marshall, MI

Schedule: Monday – Saturday, 8AM – 3PM. Note: This is set to be a long-term temporary assignment.

Position Overview/Job Description: The Truck Escort Driver is responsible for safely escorting trucks to ensure safe passage through a plant, adhering to speed limit requirements, and preventing accidents.

Responsibilities:

• Safely guide trucks and vehicles to their destination, ensuring they comply with local and state regulations.
• Position escort vehicles in front and/or behind the truck to direct traffic, manage road hazards, and avoid collisions.
• Review and plan the safest and most efficient route.
• Use vehicles and signage to manage and control traffic around the truck.
• Act as a warning to other drivers and provide safe passage through areas with potential hazards.
• Maintain communication with the truck driver and other escort personnel using two-way radios or mobile devices.
• Ensure all safety measures are followed, including flagging vehicles, setting up warning signs, and alerting other drivers of the oversized load.
• Verify that all necessary permits, paperwork, and legal documentation for the load are in place and up to date.
• Monitor road conditions and make adjustments to the escort plan as needed.
• Provide guidance for difficult maneuvers, such as making tight turns, going through low-clearance areas, or crossing bridges.

Qualifications:

• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Utilize your personal vehicle on site (gas will be reimbursed).
• Obtain personal PPE (a stipend is available for those without PPE).
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including speed limits, onsite.

Salary/Hourly Rate: Depending on experience.
