This is a site-based Wind Technician opening for a wind farm site near Harlingen, Texas. This is a local position so no relocation assistance will be offered to non-local candidates. Although previous wind turbine maintenance experience is preferred, this opportunity is also available to mechanically/electrically inclined candidates with transferrable skills looking to join the wind industry.

Responsibilities

• Always maintain a high level of safety awareness.
• Climb heights 300 ft. and greater several times daily.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems.
• Preform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and preform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturer.
• Preform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
• Preform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all hazardous Energy Controls Procedures
• Preform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines.
• Preform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluation.
• Maintaining all aspects (e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) of turbines in a safe, high quality, and efficient manner.
• Maintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary) within Maximo.

Required Experience

• Strong mechanical skillset and ability to quickly pickup new mechanical concepts
• Ability to climb towers daily/work at heights
• Strong safety mindset
• 1+ years of maintenance experience on Wind turbines or associated equipment
• Completion of a wind turbine technician school and training program
