Join a dynamic healthcare finance team serving a broad regional community in the Midwest. This full-time Accountant role offers an opportunity to contribute to financial accuracy and operational excellence under the guidance of senior leadership.

General Summary

The Accountant is responsible for preparing comprehensive and precise financial and statistical records for the Finance Division, Administration, and Board of Trustees. This position operates under close supervision and detailed review by the Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and produce monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Perform ongoing evaluations to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the general ledger.
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts promptly and accurately.
• Provide accounting support and guidance to department staff and assist with interdepartmental accounting concerns.
• Take ownership of cost control and quality improvement within assigned areas.
• Complete accounting tasks required by regulations and management requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Support additional projects and analytics as directed by the Controller or CFO, focusing on cost reduction, revenue generation, and facility-wide initiatives.

Education

A Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from an accredited institution or equivalent education and experience is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience

At least two years of accounting experience is required. Professional experience in healthcare accounting is preferred. Proficiency with spreadsheet software such as Excel is essential.

Certification/License

CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This role requires normal attention with periods of significant mental concentration. The work is primarily sedentary with extensive computer use. Ability to handle stacks of accounting reports weighing up to 10 pounds is necessary.
