Job Description

***Must have experience in 2 or 3-star Michelin Restaurants*** A globally acclaimed restaurant group, celebrated for its Michelin-starred concepts up to 3 stars, is seeking a dynamic, polished, and deeply passionate General Manager to lead their flagship ***Michelin-starred restaurant in San Francisco. This individual will embody and champion the company’s vision while overseeing all aspects of front-of-house operations. Responsibilities include making key operational decisions, maintaining the highest standards of service, and managing costs across food, beverage, labor, and supplies. The General Manager will be accountable for achieving revenue and profitability goals by driving exceptional guest experiences, fostering team excellence, and enhancing the brand’s reputation in a competitive fine dining market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Operations & Service Excellence Maintain Michelin star-level service by training staff in French service techniques and cultivating personalized guest experiences Oversee daily operations including shift supervision, scheduling, cash handling, and closing procedures Establish and implement SOPs to ensure consistency and clear performance expectations across FOH Conduct regular audits and quality control checks for food, beverage, and service standards Ensure adherence to all service standards as outlined in the service manual Lead floor presence during service, supporting FOH team in all areas including wine service Guest Experience & Hospitality Foster a culture of genuine hospitality, ensuring each guest enjoys a memorable and elevated experience Build authentic guest relationships and maintain open channels of communication Serve as the primary guest contact for inquiries, concerns, or service recovery Investigate and resolve any service or food-related complaints promptly and professionally Event Management Coordinate and oversee private events, banquets, and special functions, ensuring seamless execution and high guest satisfaction Leadership & Team Development Mentor and coach FOH staff throughout onboarding, with structured goal setting and ongoing development plans Provide educational opportunities, mentorship, and tools to strengthen staff knowledge in company values and food/beverage excellence Assist and support every member of the FOH team during service Prepare and lead weekly manager meetings, setting clear performance goals and deadlines Guide and delegate tasks to the Assistant General Manager, assigning specific projects and objectives Staffing & HR Coordination In partnership with HR and Director of Operations, manage hiring, onboarding, and termination processes for FOH staff Write job descriptions and collaborate with HR for job postings and recruitment Conduct 90-day reviews and annual performance evaluations for all FOH employees Maintain current staffing plans and address team needs proactively Strategic Planning & Financial Performance Monitor sales levels and profitability; develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets Stay current on industry trends through professional development, workshops, and publications Maintain strong, professional relationships with all vendors and service providers

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have experience working in a Michelin 2 or 3 Star restaurant. 5+ years of food and beverage management in a luxury restaurant. Managerial and leadership skills, including honesty, a strong work ethic, and high moral integrity. Hospitality and operations expert in the luxury food and beverage industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel). Knowledge of Accounting, POS, Reservation Software. Be able to make decisions, problem solve, and lead a full brigade including the BOH team. Expertise in operations, P&L analysis and manager development.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
