Software   Senior Principal Engineer   in the Data Path Engineering team at Dell USS constantly   push   the boundaries of what is possible in the world of Big Data storage and distributed systems. We are a true systems company and work at every layer of the storage stack, including all aspects of operating systems and file systems, distributed algorithms, high-performance protocol stacks, and next-generation virtualization technology.

Data Path Engineering team is a global organization with US-based teams as well as Israel, China, and Poland.  The Data Path team is based in multiple global locations and is working on   cutting-edge   technologies to help develop the next-generation storage technologies.  

What you’ll achieve  
As a Software Senior Principal Engineer, you will   be responsible for   developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.  

You will:  

• Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex systems and software/storage environments
• Prepare, review, and evaluate software/storage specifications for products and systems
• Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems
• Develop core software primarily using C/C++ and Python

Essential Requirements

• 12+ years of extensive experience with high-performing software quality teams; knowledge of software development methods, design, and implementation
• Proficiency with programming languages; operating systems; firmware; BIOS; device drivers; databases; system, network, operating system, and application administration; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities; and ability to learn new tools and topics if needed
• Ability to dive into complex designs and codebase, debug and improve complicated, scalable code, and independently design, implement, and debug extensions and features for an existing product
• Fluent English and ability to communicate with global teams

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $208,250 to $269,500.
